The Blast Royale team, which we held an AMA on June 16, 2022 as Coinmuhendisi, answered our questions and gave information about the project.

First of all, the Blast Royale Team, whom we wanted to introduce herself, conveyed the following

I’m Nik, game design director at First Light Games.

I’m making games for more than 10 years now. I’ve started doing freemium mystery adventures, but over time I’ve worked on many other types of games and models, ranging from casual to hardcore, from premium to free-to-play

I’ve spent many years at Wargaming gaining strong expertise in free-to-play and live operations. That’s where we’ve met with Anil. So a couple years ago he invited me to join First Light and here we are – doing web3 games, exploring this amazing frontier. I didn’t know much about it a year ago, but since then the more I learn, the more I believe that this is the future of games industry that we are shaping right now.

I’m Anil Das-Gupta CPO and Cofoudner of First Light Games, the company behind Blast Royale.

First Light Games were established 4 years ago by industry veterans Neil McFarland and I. Neil was the head of UsTwo game studios, creators of Monument Valley, for which he was the Product lead for. I worked at Capcom on franchises such as Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry and Lost Planet, before also working at several Free-to-Play studios such as NaturalMotion, GREE and Wargaming.

The rest of our team has over 50 years combined experience making games such as Tomb Raider, Merge Dragons and World of Warships!

AMA our event started with some introductory questions that we asked the The Blast Royale Team as Coinmuhendisi, and the questions asked and the answers given are as follows

 

Q1. Who are First Light Games?

A1. First Light Games were established 4 years ago by industry veterans Neil McFarland and Anil Das-Gupta. Neil was the head of UsTwo game studios, creators of Monument Valley, for which he was the Product lead for. Anil worked at Capcom on franchises such as Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry and Lost Planet, before also working at several Free-to-Play studios such as NaturalMotion, GREE and Wargaming.

Q2. What is Blast Royale?

A2. Blast Royale is a mobile Battle Royale game designed for the web3 generation. A fun, frenetic adrenaline fuelled short session game that is about packing as much fun onto the blockchain as possible. Players with NFTs can earn Crypto by playing the game, but it will also be possible to play the game totally for free without the Crypto earning potential. We are making the game to bring high quality, fun experiences to the blockchain and to help gather mainstream crypto adoption.

Q3.  How does the Blockchain element of the game work?

A3. At launch, players need 3 equipment NFTs to be able to play the game. Equipment consists of items you might find during a Battle Royale game such as Weapons, Armor, Shields and other items. These NFTs can be upgraded and improved over time to help you earn more Crypto when playing. Anyone with NFTs is eligible to earn rewards in the game by taking part in Battle Royale matches. Winning earns more of our secondary token, Craft Spice than losing, but you earn regardless of your finishing position.

Q4. Can I scholar my equipment to other players?

A4. Yes! Our game has a custom marketplace that will be available at launch that allows players to seamlessly scholar NFTs to other players, setting a revenue distribution agreement between the two parties, as well as an expiration date.

Q5. Who have you partnered with / who has invested?

A5. We are being backed by a star studded list of investors such as Animoca Brands, Mechanism Capital, Defiance and Dragon Fly Capital, as well as some of the top guilds like Ancient8 and Merit Circle.

 

After the questions asked by Coinmuhendisi within the scope of the project and answered by the Blast Royale Team, the questions of 10 people from Twitter users and Telegram users were selected within the scope of the event, and the questions were answered by the Blast Royale Team.


TWITTER QUESTIONS

Q1.One of your goals is to make BlastRoyale accessible to everyone. So does this mean that your game would offer the market a free option for players?If so, can you explain how you will develop this free model? Will it be possible to earn with this model or only with the paid model? (@ArkaanRendy)

A1. Blast Royale will be only Play and Earn initially, so all players will need to have an access to at least 3 NFTs equipment to play the game.

But later this year we are planning to release a Free to Play layer of the game, where players will be able to get free non-NFT equipment to play the game. That equipment will have less or no earning capabilities. However, if a player is really good at the game at winning competitions, they still may be able to earn. But the primary way to earn is to use NFT equipment.

Q2.Staking & NFT are hot topics right now, My question is, did you make this project only for the short term because of these hot topics? Do you have a long term plan for this project? (@yousufpul)

A2. Our approach is quality over quantity. And we are committed to make a project that is sustainable in long term. That’s why we align all our tokenomics around long term and will use levers to make it happen. We have big plans for this project for years and years. Some hit games are still at the top even though they were released more than 10 years ago, like World of Warcraft or Clash of Clans. And we aim to make Blast Royale a hit game, no less!

Q3. What is your strategy to attract new users and investors to your project and keep them long term because Marketing is a central element for every project, so that everyone know the potential that a project can bring is vital to achieve the goals set? (@Ripon64474125)

A3. The main strategy is to be clear that we are making a fun game and we can prove that we are capable of doing so, and it attracts partners and players that believe in First Light Games  and in Blast Royale as well. We are all here together for the long term success.

Q4.As I understand it, this project is still in its early stages, and you’re just getting started.Can you tell us about your progress thus far? #blastroyele What is the most recent important update, and what are you currently working on?(@ShRojina)

A4. Right now we already have a live Beta Testing event for our community for our Deathmatch game mode, with livestreams and tournament events with rewards. We’ve also just launched our Blastlist campaign, which is our fun version of Whitelisting for our game NFT sales. Once we have globally launched we plan to make Blast Royale Championships for our community with big prizes to be won.

Q5. Can you list 1-3 killer features of this project that makes it ahead of its competitors? What is the #blastroyele competitive advantage your project has that you feel most confident about? (@sh_ruhan)

A5.Fun gunplay where your skill at aiming and moving matters which is not common on mobile where games are moving closer into slower paced MOBA gameplay.We are adding strategic levels of gameplay to Battle Royale through the blockchain. Developing the right items to take into battle can give you an edge and there is competitive meta to these items. And those items have are player owned and drive their own economy too!
